Stakeholder engagement is a critical element in the policy advocacy and lobbying operations of The Banking Association South Africa. Our stakeholder strategy includes identification of the critical stakeholders we must engage with, objectivity in such engagement, a robust partnership approach and ethical and professional engagement. The stakeholder strategy contributes to our mission, which is to create a profitable and sustainable financial sector that contributes to the socio-economic development of our country and to create a platform off which banks compete to innovate and optimise service. A critical element of such stakeholder management is collaboration with private sector associations to optimise best practice.
