  The 2nd Annual Banking Summit 2011
The 2nd Annual Banking Summit looks beyond the financial crisis and instead focuses on the architecture and form that the South African banking system should take, informed by global regulatory changes and peculiarities of the South African financial services sector. National Treasury has launched a Policy Document titled "A safer financial sector to serve South Africa better". The Paper amongst others deals with the issue of a "Twin Peak" approach to regulating the financial services sector in South Africa. This session deals with the new regime and the impact it would have on the structure of financial services, with a particular reference to banking.
